We believe a rug should feel as good as it looks. Here’s what goes into every DuGood Woven rug.
Wool
Our wool yarns come from responsibly raised sheep. Wool is naturally soft, durable, and stain-resistant. It repels spills, resists crushing, and softens underfoot while staying resilient for years.
Cotton
We use cotton for our foundation and backing. Cotton is breathable, gentle on floors, and gives each rug a stable, lasting shape.
Natural Dyes
Our colors come from plant-based, low-impact dyes. This means rich, nuanced tones that deepen with age — and a smaller footprint on the environment.
Construction
- Hand-Tufted: yarns are punched through a fabric backing with a hand tool, then finished with a protective coating for lasting structure.
- Hand-Knotted: each knot is tied by hand at the loom — the most time-honored, most durable method, and the most labor-intensive.
Edges & Finish
Every rug is finished with reinforced, hand-stitched edges to prevent fraying. We inspect each piece twice — once after weaving, once before packing.
Care
- Vacuum on low setting without a beater bar
- Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth
- Professional cleaning recommended for wool rugs
- Use a rug pad to extend the life of your rug
